Mainly called “pose dedicated to the Sage Koundinya II”. Hindus named certain poses to honor a long gone sage, or one of their deities, and would practice the poses as devotion to them. Im not Hindu, but a lot of the names for poses are of Hindu origin. This pose is very good for the arms and mental discipline.
